Un’indagine sull’energia da un punto di vista microscopico, che ne esplora l’impercettibilità e l’essenzialità per l’ecosistema attraverso fotografie del lichene vesuviano. Organismo formatosi dalla simbiosi di un fungo e di un’alga, permette la presenza di una vegetazione rigogliosa dopo un’eruzione e la trasformazione di luoghi aridi in ecosistemi complessi. Alla radice del rapporto simbiotico vi è la trasformazione energetica data dalla fotosintesi a carico dell’alga per nutrire il fungo, il quale rifornisce l’alga di acqua e sali minerali: i due simbionti sopravvivono così grazie ai loro scambi energetici. Leitmotiv: il paradosso fotografico visibile invisibile e l’iter di trasmissione-creazione-conservazione. La riflessione inizia dal termine “simbiosi”, analizzando l’interazione e la convivenza cui sono sottoposti l’uomo e l’energia. Se l’energia è in tutte le cose, è necessario raggiungere un legame sostenibile e consapevole, quanto più vantaggioso per tutti.

An exploration of energy from a microscopic point of view, exploring its imperceptibility and essentiality for the ecosystem through photographs of the Vesuvian lichen. An organism formed by the symbiosis of a fungus and an alga, it allows the presence of lush vegetation after an eruption and the transformation of arid places into complex ecosystems. At the root of the symbiotic relationship is the energy transformation given by photosynthesis by the alga to feed the fungus, which supplies the alga with water and mineral salts: the two symbionts thus survive thanks to their energy exchanges. Leitmotif: the visible invisible photographic paradox and the transmission creation-conservation process. The reflection begins with the term ‘symbiosis’, analysing the interaction and coexistence to which man and energy are subjected. If energy is in all things, it is necessary to achieve a sustainable and conscious connection, as beneficial to all.
